The purpose of the Mitchell J. Colucci Memorial Fund is to provide scholarships to deserving high school graduating seniors pursuing a post-high school course of study in the area of the performing arts (Dance, Drama, Music, etc...) at either a college/university or other post-secondary educational institution.

The Mitchell J. Colucci Memorial Fund Scholarship is currently available at the following Dutchess County high schools:

ABOUT OUR AWARD SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS

 

TYLER O'LEARY - 2013 (DOVER H.S.)

After graduating, Tyler pursued further education in music production at Dutchess County Community College.  Tyler is now focusing all of his time and energy on promoting his band Pros & iCons, which has had great success over the last year.  They were the winners of the Z100 Hometown Heroes contest and have performed at well-known venues all over the state and country including Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City.  

 

JEFFREY TAMBOIA - 2013 (DOVER H.S.)

Jeffrey is pursuing a degree in film at Full Sail University in Florida.  He has been the production manager, prop master, and production designer on numberous film projects.  He is also very proud and honoed to have been hand-picked to be the production manager on a specia film produced for the Red Cross of Florida.

 

RUSSELL HANUSIK - 2014 (DOVER H.S.)

Russell attends SUNY Purchase in New York City where he is pursuing study in performing arts, arts management, and studio production.  He also continues to play with the Dover High School pit band for plays and musical productions as well as perform with and write music for his band Vistations.

 

MICHAEL STOERZINGER - 2015 (DOVER H.S.)

Michael attends SUNY Dutchess Community College where he is pursuing Communications and Media for Film and Music.  Michael was a member of the Dover High School Drama Club and Band and showcased his talents as Captain Brackett in his senior year musical South Pacific.  

ARIANA LASHER - 2016 (DOVER H.S.)

Ariana attends the University of New Haven where she is pursuing a degree in the Theatre Arts with a Performance concentration.  Ariana starred on the Dover High School stage throughout her high school career in shows such as Into The Woods, Oliver!, A Streetcar Named Desire, and South Pacific.  She was also a member of the Concert Band, Jazz Band and Troublemakers Acapella Group.

CASSANDRA WHITEHEAD - 2016 (WEBUTUCK H.S.)

Cassandra attends Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson pursuing a Musical Performance BFA.  With over 10 theatrical shows under her belt, Cassandra has performed regionally and locally in the Hudson Valley.  Cassandra has performed in such shows as Hello Dolly!, 42nd Street, Annie Get Your Gun, Damn Yankees, and Fiddler on the Roof.  Cassandra has also graced the MJC Memorial Fund Performance Revue stage twice and we look forward to her return in 2017.

JULIA BUTTS - 2017 (WEBUTUCK H.S.)

Julia attends Hartick College in Oneonta, NY pursuing Music Education.  Julia was a full fledged musician while attending Webutuck High School participating in chorus, band, jazz band, and pit orchestra playing alto saxophone, piano, tenor saxophone, and clarinet.  Julia also accompanied the elementary and middle school choruses on piano.  Julia also played varsity field hockey at Webutuck and was named a Poughkeepsie Journal All-Star in 2016. 

JAMES WHEELER - 2017 (WEBUTUCK H.S.)

James attends Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois pursuing a Theater Arts.  James had been a part of the Webutuck drama department since the 6th grade performing in such shows as: Fiddler on the Roof, Anything Goes, Crazy for You, Damn Yankees, Annie Get Your Gun, and 42nd Street.  Additionally, James has been a regular performer at the Mitchell J. Colucci Memorial Variety Show since its inception in 2013. 

DEVIN HAY - 2018 (STISSING MOUNTAIN H.S.)

Devin attends Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson pursuing a degree in Theatre Performance. Devin had been a member of the Stissing Theatre Guild, participated in chorus and band, and was active in art and photography.  Devin played leading roles in “The Wizard of Oz”, “Mary Poppins”, and “The Music Man” with the Stissing Theatre Guild.

JUSTIN SNELLING - 2018 (DOVER H.S.)

Justin plans on attending Dutchess Community College for Music and Audio Engineering.  Justin was a member of the Dover High School band, jazz band, and a founding member of the Dover High School guitar club.  A multi-talented musician who can play seven different instruments and sings. Justin was awarded the Dutchess County Jazz Festival Judge's Excellence Award in 2018. 

 

BROOKE LEAREY - 2019 (DOVER H.S.)

Brooke will be attending the University at Buffalo pursuing a degree in Musical Theatre. Brooke has been a member of the Dover High School drama club, choir, and A Capella groups while also excelling in student government and the Senior Honor Society. Brooke has performed in many shows including: "Mama Mia", "All My Sons", "Fiddler on the Roof", "Into the Woods", and many more with the Dover Theatre Company as well as numerous shows with local community theaters such as: JPAC, County Players, Standing Room Only, and TriArts Theatre.

JOSEPH RICHARD - 2019 (MILLBROOK H.S.)

Joseph plans on attending Dutchess Community College for Music Performance.  Joseph was a member of the Millbrook Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, and Drama Club Pit Orchestra; while participating at NYSSMA and DCMEA Honors Band. Some of Joseph's many accolades include: receiving the Judges Choice Award at the DCMEA All County Jazz Festival and being named Outstanding Instrumentalist.

TESSA FONTAINE - 2020 (MILLBROOK H.S.)

TYLER TOMPKINS - 2020 (DOVER H.S.)

Tyler plans on attending SUNY Oneonta in the fall pursuing a Bachelors of Arts in Music Industry. Tyler was a member of the Dover High School Band and Dover High School Jazz band. Tyler is an accomplished musician playing percussion, guitar, saxophone, trombone, piano, fretless bass, and continues to add more instruments every chance he gets. Tyler started his own band which has played many local events as well at the Chance Theatre in Poughkeepsie, NY and the iconic Bitter End Club in New York City.
